RECIPE

FORBIDDEN APPLE COCKTAIL
Ingredients
Instructions
- To a small glass bowl, add turbinado sugar and cinnamon, and mix thoroughly to combine. Pour onto a small plate, and shake the plate to distribute. Pour maple syrup onto another plate (or lemon juice). Dip the rims of two 15 ounce rocks glasses into maple syrup (or lemon juice), then immediately dip them into the cinnamon sugar. Tap each glass to remove excess sugar, and set glasses aside.
- Dip the tips of two apple slices into maple syrup (or lemon juice), then spoon cinnamon sugar onto the tips to coat. Skewer each slice onto cocktail picks, and set aside.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add lemon juice, apple juice, maple syrup, vodka, and ground cinnamon. Cover and shake vigorously.
- Fill prepared cocktail glasses with fresh ice cubes (about halfway full). Then strain the cocktail into glasses, garnish each glass with the sugared apple slice (optional), and enjoy!
Notes
- I prefer using Grey Goose vodka for this cocktail because it has a clean finish. However, Kettle One vodka or your favorite vodka will also work fine.
- If you are not going to serve the cocktail immediately, be sure to coat the apple slices in lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
- Makes two servings.

How to Make this Forbidden Apple Cocktail for Two!
Blog Comments & Tips
A delicious autumn cocktail!
This Forbidden Apple Cocktail is a deliciously drinkable libation that goes down so easy! It’s one of the easiest cocktails you’ll ever make as the only prep it requires is squeezing some fresh lemon juice, and measuring bottled ingredients. You can certainly get fancy and make the cinnamon sugar rim and the special apple garnish, but it’s really not necessary.
This cocktail was such a hit with my godparents that she called me the next day to ask for the recipe! Even my godfather (who is not a fan of cocktails) loved this drink. This is a great cocktail to make for a crowd, as you can prepare the glasses in advance, and prepare the cocktail and refrigerate until your guests arrive. Enjoy this fall cocktail and make sure to save this fall recipe as your guests may even want a copy!
How do you ensure the best results from this recipe?
My 3 tips to making this Forbidden Apple Cocktail for Two:
Use good quality vodka. I prefer using Grey Goose vodka for this cocktail because it has a clean finish. However, Kettle One vodka or your favorite vodka will also work fine.
The brand of apple juice is up to you. For this cocktail, I prefer Tree Top pressed apple juice. Even their apple juice from concentrate works well in this recipe. If you want a stronger apple flavor, try an unfiltered apple juice. However, don’t use an apple cider, as it will be overly spiced with the cinnamon in the cocktail.
If you have a couple of extra minutes, try to make the sugar rim. The taste of the cinnamon sugar rim combined with the cocktail is delightful!

Footnote: Remember to drink responsibly. This cocktail may seem innocent, but it has a fair amount of alcohol in it and will sneak up on you when you least expect it!
Adapted from the Apple Juice Cocktail recipe from beamingbaker.com. I switched up a couple of ingredients and quantities, and added a cinnamon sugar rim to the cocktail and a fancy garnish to make it extra special.
