My 3 tips to making this Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade:
Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice. Bottled lemon juice will not work!
Make my Blueberry Simple Syrup recipe ahead of time, and refrigerate it until you are ready to make this delicious lemonade recipe.
Sparkling water gives this drink a subtle fizz. If you want a fizzier lemonade, use club soda instead.
It’s time to customize and Pimp My Recipe.
Pimp My Recipe:
Make it Lighter: If you prefer a lighter version of this blueberry lemonade, add 7 ounces (or more taste) sparkling water or club soda. I recommend using no more than 8 ounces per serving, otherwise it will become too watery.
Make it Flat: To get the same great taste without the fizz, replace the sparkling water (or club soda) with flat filtered water. This version will have less sodium, too.
Make Ahead Instructions for a Crowd: Recipe can be made ahead of time and for a crowd. To a pitcher, add Blueberry Simple Syrup and lemon juice, and stir. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve, stir syrup and lemon juice well, then add sparkling water (or club soda) to the pitcher. Stir well again, and serve.
If you don’t want to use sparkling water, you can add filtered water to the lemon juice and simple syrup, stir, and chill until ready to serve. To serve, just stir well and pour into each glass.
Make Ahead Instructions When Entertaining: To a pitcher, add Blueberry Simple Syrup and lemon juice, and stir. When ready to serve, just stir well again, pour 3 ounces into each ice filled glass, and top with sparkling water (or club soda - 6 ounces per glass). Garnish as desired.
