How to Make this Healthy Peach Crumble Smoothie!
Blog Comments & Tips
This is a definite make again recipe!
Peach season was amazing this year! With so many sweet and juicy peaches available in the market this season, it was quite fun developing a number of peach recipes this summer. Smoothies are a great way to incorporate lots of nutrients and fresh ingredients that you won’t find in breakfast cereals. Mix up your morning breakfast by making one of my delicious smoothies! My Healthy Peach Crumble Smoothie may taste like a peach crumble dessert, but it’s packed with a variety of health benefits thanks to its wholesome ingredients. Here are some of the key health benefits:
Protein & Bone Health: Nonfat Greek yogurt is a fantastic source of protein, which not only helps with muscle repair and growth, but it helps you feel full and satisfied. The calcium in Greek yogurt supports bone health and may help prevent osteoporosis.
Vitamins & Minerals: Peaches are rich in vitamins C and A, and minerals like potassium. Vitamin C boosts your immune system, and vitamin A is important for skin health. Potassium supports heart health and helps maintain proper fluid balance in the body.
Fiber: Organic old fashioned rolled oats and ground flaxseed are a great source of dietary fiber, which help stabilize blood sugar levels and keep you feeling full for longer periods. The combination of oats and flaxseed in this smoothie also contributes to healthy digestion.
Healthy Fats & Brain Health: Pecans are a great source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, while flaxseeds provide omega-3 fatty acids, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 fatty acids are also known to support brain health and may have mood-enhancing effects.
Antioxidants: Ground cinnamon and nutmeg are rich in antioxidants, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. They may also have potential benefits for blood sugar regulation.
Essential Nutrients: While maple syrup should be used in moderation due to its natural sugar content, it does provide some essential nutrients like manganese and zinc.
Heart Health: Including heart-healthy ingredients like oats, pecans, and flaxseed in a healthy diet may help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

My 4 tips to making this deliciously Healthy Peach Crumble Smoothie:
Use organic ingredients when possible. This smoothie is best when you use fresh peaches and especially when they are in season.
Although you can use store bought frozen peaches, For the best flavor and nutritional value, use a fresh peach, then slice and freeze overnight to make this quick morning smoothie.
This recipe works best if you use a high-speed blender. Both the NutriBullet high speed blender and the Vitamix high-speed blender work extremely well for this recipe.

Pimp My Recipe:
Make it Vegan & Dairy-Free: Replace the Greek yogurt with your favorite non-dairy yogurt. For a vegan version, I like using Kite Hill Greek-style plain yogurt or Forager Project unsweetened cashew milk yogurt.
Make it Quicker: For a quick and easy way to make this smoothie, use store bought frozen peaches instead. Please note that the flavor may not be as “fresh and peachy” if you use pre-frozen peaches. Plus, when you use the whole fruit (including the peel), you have more nutritional value. It’s always best to slice and freeze your own fresh peaches.
